New client: Capital Volunteering

10 November 2004

Ichameleon is delighted to announce a new client, the London-based voluntary service Capital Volunteering.

Capital Volunteering tackles issues of mental health and social exclusion by increasing the number and range of supported volunteering opportunities in London.

Capital Volunteering's requirements are complex: a public-facing website that can be updated at any time via a Content Management System (CMS). The CMS must be very simple to use, as it will be operated by a large number of non-technical staff.

In addition, there must be a facility that allows non-technical staff to quickly create new microsites for each of the London boroughs that contribute to Capital Volunteering's work. Each of these microsites must also be managed via the same simple-to-operate CMS.

"This is exactly the sort of challenge we relish", says Russell Jones, co-founder of Ichameleon.

"It allows us to flex our technical muscles, as well as solving all of the communication, branding and design issues. It's also good fun for our team to get under the skin of a client, and really understand their requirements. That's the best way to make sure the CMS interface will work how Capital Volunteering expect".

The Capital Volunteering project will be launched in three stages. The public website will go live before Christmas 2004; the Intranet is launched in January 2005; and the CMS at the end of February 2005.
